Welcome to our first monthly newsletter
where we will share Vert Catering news, recipes and cooking tips
with a monthly theme. This month it's all about catching up....
Vert Catering has now been at our
Dovercourt Road location for just over a year and we are happy to
say business is great. Over the year, we have catered for companies
such as Teeple Architects, Yabu Pushelberg, Minto Properties, MMPI's
Interior Design Show Gala, Universal Music Canada, and Coca Cola.
We also catered for some amazing non-profits and government departments
such as ACTRA, World Wildlife Fund, Greenpeace, Toronto Community
Housing, Ministry of the Environment among many others.
We were featured in a few publications which were good for business,
namely Gordon Lightfoot hiring us for his week-long concert at Massey
Hall after reading our Porter magazine article. Check us out in:
Porter airline's Reporter in-flight
magazine
Biz
Bash event magazine
We are happy to re-launch our gourmet express retail store that
will bring new healthy food ideas, classes and programs that we
hope will excite the whole community. Stay tuned for our bi-monthly
what's for dinner emails with our weekly themed entrees.
We have been on quite a culinary journey since Marilyn, Conor and
myself joined forces three years ago. We combined our beliefs, talents
and values together and discovered the power of good food and good
intentions. We love to experience how running a business can help
people in need and help reduce our impact on the environment.
We continue to support our two community partners; SKETCH
- an arts program for street-involved youth and The
Stop Community Food Centre. We are happy to support SKETCH by
donating high end caterings for their Board of Directors Meetings
and Volunteer Appreciation Nites and we have raised over $600 for
The Stop through our cause-related Christmas parties, Food
that Gives program and donations as gifts for our wedding clients.
We also regularly drop-off untouched catering remainings to Toronto
Community Hostel.
As a chef, I prefer local uncertified organic products to help improve
the local economy, the environment and our health. I'm a huge supporter
of uncertified food like Mennonite chicken. My cooking methods have
become extremely important as well, to be able to serve food people
enjoy and make it as heatlhy as possible. By reducing the amount
of cholesterol in the cooking process and encouraging eating protein
in moderation for instance, I can play a part in promoting healthy
food choices.
We look forward to seeing and serving everyone again at the store!
