Catching up
It's been 3 years since we closed the store to focus on our catering business. Since then, we have grown our caterings to include many new regular corporate clients including environmental lawyers Bennett Jones, Cadillac Fairview, Avenue Road, PCL Construction, Greenpeace and the Ontario HIV Network, to name a few.

Vert was the exclusive caterer for Andrea Horwarth NDP election campaign. We met the campaign bus at Queen's Park every day in September with hot breakfast and lunches for the staff and media.

Vert was hired for 3 consecutive years for concert series for Gordon Lightfoot at Massey Hall. Mr. Lightfoot is a big fan of Pedro's food, he claims "...it's the best band spread he's had in North America."

We've also picked up 2 Montessori daycares and cater 70 children every day with healthy gourmet hot lunches. These kids have developed quite the palette and have fallen in love with beans, homemade plantain chips and jump up and down on shanghai noodle days. Definitely one of our most discerning and favourite customers.

Check out photos of a lovely Caledon wedding we did last year on our facebook page.

Our team has grown, we now have on our crew:
Dermot - kitchen helper extraordinaire
Dave - sous chef
Amanda - account coordinator

And, we're proud to join the Everpure Co-op, who make 100% biodiesel out of used cooking oil. We will be purchasing a diesel van that will run off of 100% biodiesel from May-Oct.

We continue to donate regularly to the Toronto Community Hostel with untouched leftover caterings and empty our fridges at the end of the week, prep the raw vegetables for the chef ready to use.Vert also continues to provide quarterly donated hot dinner caterings for SKETCH's Board of Director meetings. And, we try to donate as much as possible when organisations request platters for their events.

The store - opening Monday, April 16th
Tired of Old El Paso on a Thursday nite? Pop by the store and pick up something for dinner instead. We will be serving a variety of takeout food that you can pick and choose 3 items for your $12 box. This could serve a one very hungry person, or make a salad and you could serve 2.

Pedro will be baking fesh cornbread and his mom, Maria will be baking some wonderful breads for sale. We will also be selling a small variety of fresh organic vegetables.
