
Vert is the original green caterer. Our food not only gives pleasure, it gives generously to the community and back to the environment. Since 2005, Vert has been a socially and environmentally responsible member
of the food community. Our food is local, fresh, seasonal and passionately
cultivated.
Vert Catering is committed to produce less landfill waste than any
other caterer in the city, making us the obvious green solution for
your corporate or private events.
How Vert is green

- Local Food Plus (LFP) certified seller.
- Supporting community by working with our community partner SKETCH.
We regularly donate dinner caterings for their Board of Directors meetings and use their print services run by their street youth.
- Donating quality untouched extra catering food to the Toronto Community Hostel.
- Composting and removing organic waste when buildings do not provide.
- Reduce approximately 2 lbs. of waste per 10 person lunch in comparison to other caterers.
- Driving environmentally friendly Autoshare and delivering brown bag lunches by bicycle.
- Member of Everpure Biodiesel Co-op, driving our vehicle with 100% biodiesel May-Sept.
- Using biodegradable non-pulp tableware products.
- ISO 14001 compliant, using an environmental management system which conforms to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.

Chef Pedro Dos Santos
Pedro brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to cooking,
having spent many years gaining expertise in managing his own restaurant,
Latitude to working in some of Toronto's finest restaurants, including
the Fifth. Pedro was the Head Chef and Food Consultant for the Healthy
Butcher, which only sells organic products.
His food philosophy is deeply rooted in the culinary traditions of
Italy, France and other Mediterranean countries.
Marilyn Simms
Marilyn brings 8 years of project management, marketing and client relationship experience to Vert Catering, including owning an interactive agency, Redeye Interactive for 2 years. Marilyn also has 2 years experience as a Manager, Corporate Programs for an environmental organisation.
